This piece is very likely one of the most original and challenging pieces ever written for big band. It is based on the idea of the minmimalist master piece A short Ride in a Fast Machine by John Adams. Starts off with a canonic riff mainly in the five clarinets. An interesting fast theme in three part canon. Fast, unusual and challenging minimalist sax soli. Solos for trumpet 5 and alto 2. Short tutti near end and an inventive and fun ending in the horns using fast eighth notes. If you want fun and exciting music and a great challenge, this is the piece!
