Description

This piece was commissioned by the Taipei American School in 2019, and was inspired by Charles Mingus' "Boogie Stop Shuffle," performances by the KODO Taiko ensemble and its members, and the Tokyo Ondo beat (which is paraphrased at the bridge of the theme at [C]), among other sources. It features two Japanese Taiko drummers and a Chanchiki player. Solos on F Minor blues changes for trombone and bass.
