Description
This pretty bossa-nova features arresting harmonies and lots of counterlines. The melody is stated mostly by a duet of alto and flügel, then a transitional section leads to solos by flügel and soprano (or tenor). Contrapuntal writing for the band builds to a big climax, and a short recap of the melody leads to a restatement of the intro and a quiet ending. Interesting textures featuring flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano and flügel doublings.
