Description

Commissioned by the University of New Hampshire as part of the David Seiler Commissioning Project, Broken Cycles is an ECM-influenced straight-eighths composition that features alto sax and guitar.  A lyrical and heavily diatonic melody is matched with unexpected harmony to give the tune momentum.  After a brief shout section, the chart settles into a reflective "prayer" at the end.
