Description
This song was written by Ivan Lins, famous Brazilian composer, with lyrics by Paul Winter.
This “happy” feeling samba features the soprano sax (substitute for Alto 1) and drums/percussion open solo.
The harmony is very diatonic and lends itself well for easier pentatonic scales for novice improvisers.
High trumpet note is written C# with a few optional higher notes (ends with high F#) that have lower note options.
This song is in the key of A major which may be a challenge for younger bands. … but well worth the effort!!!
