Description

A sophisticated procession through medium Latin/rock, half-time rock, and double-time samba feels, Direct Current was written for the Cal State L.A. Jazz Ensemble for a premier at an international jazz conference. This is a new contemporary sounding version of the tune that features guitar in an extended solo. It has been moved to a new key that makes the piece more accessible for the brass section and the guitar soloist. The recording of Direct Current is on the DCJO CD, AT THE EDGE OF SPRING, released in January 2025.
