Description

Chamber voice and piano evolves into medium swing into modal tenor solo reminiscent of John Coltrane quartet. Lyric consists mostly of four-letter words (all G-rated) with “love” and “hate” at the opposite ends of the lyrical spectrum. Demanding piano part involves some chamber music, detailed accompanying in swing and free comping.  From the suite “Don’t Let Go” commissioned by a Chamber Music American New Jazz Works Grant.
