Description
Initially composed for small group and still a mainstay of Chuck’s ReSurgence septet, the funky N’awlins groove and catchy head are so much fun that the big band arrangement was a given. Solos (scored for tenor sax and organ but easily opened up for others) are over rhythm section changes with an extended bridge. Some optional Coltrane-ish subs are provided, however, for those who like their gumbo spicy!! (Optional Violin, Optional Hammond B-3) Recorded by Chuck Owen & the Jazz Surge on “Here We Are”.
