Written for and recorded by the Berlin Jazz Orchestra of their 2021 album “Songs of Berlin.” ‘Gold Else’ is an up tempo, original jazz waltz inspired by Die Gold Else ("Golden Lizzy") atop the Victory Column in the center of the Tiergarten in Berlin. A Johann Strauss inspired melody with harmonic influences of Billy Strayhorn, this features a trombone soloist (or can feature tenor sax). Great shout chorus and soli writing in the middle.
