Goodbye, the second movement of the ALL IN ONE SUITE, features Alto Sax 1 throughout. Goodbye is inspired by the composer’s father-in-law, who moved to the US from Sweden in 1910 on a ship by himself when he was twelve. “His story is interesting, but I found myself wondering how his mother must have felt when she said goodbye to him, knowing she might never see him again.” (DC) That’s what the piece is about.
