Description
Commissioned by George Beyer and the Cypress College Jazz Ensemble (Cypress CA), flugelhorn ballad originally written for the Los Angeles studio trumpet player Kye Palmer. Recorded by the U.S. Army Jazz Knights and played extensively out on tour by that group. Ballad to double time bossa nova and then back to ballad. Very lyric piece, soli writing and nice writing for the band going to a shout chorus after the solo section. Great piece to feature a flugelhorn/trumpet soloist and program for festivals!
