Description

Woody Herman style, swing chart written over ‘Bird Blues’ chord changes (Blues for Alice), a bit like "Tiny's Blues" that was arranged for Woody’s band. Tune uses blues as part of the form, but also the tune is AABA (has a bridge). Features an open solo, 12 measure blues section. This chart was commissioned by the La Habra High School Jazz Ensemble, Phil Wightman director (La Habra, California) in 2011.
