Description
One of the things I like doing in my free time is learning about psychology and psychological phenomena. It was around 2018/19 when I read an article about the „impostor syndrome“. The term describes a psychological pattern in which human beings doubt their skills, talents, or accomplishments and are afraid of being exposed as a fraud. I can relate to that feeling quite well and it drives me sometimes mad. So I tried to write a highly energetic piece which captures my energy and mood while thinking about this topic. The composition features two soloists, a tenor soloist and a trombone (euphonium), who create a solo combining energy and momentum. After the peak of the composition there is an extended piano solo cadence which contrasts the rather up-tempo and energetic odd-meter groove of the composition.
