Ivories Tower is my tribute to Hank Jones, commissioned by an ASCAP grant.

This chart calls for some woodwind doubles & 4 flugelhorn horns to achieve an orchestral vibe at the beginning and end.

The piece kicks into a romping & playful jazz tune with solos for trumpet & piano.

After a Thad Jones inspired sax soli, the whole band turns into a stride style piano with a New Orleans feel shout chorus.
