Description
This rompin' contemporary shuffle was written for the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra's role in the Sunday Jazz Vespers Service @ St. Peter's Church, New York City. It imagines what this traditional spiritual would sound like reworked for Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, so it includes small band vs. big band interplay. Solos for Alto Sax 1, Trumpet 2, and Trombone 2.
