Description
Lake & Maple, commissioned by Curtis Gaesser for the Folsom High School Jazz Band, simply refuses to sit in one spot when it comes to meter, bouncing back and forth between 7, 6, and 5 throughout. This is a challenging chart from start to finish, but well worth the time and energy—solo space settles into a steady six feel for trombone and alto saxophone (or guitar/piano), and bass plays the melody up front.
