Description

This is a straight ahead swinger for the most part.  A chorus of piano solo leads it off, followed by a statement of the tune by a small band, with punctuations from the full ensemble.  Some writing for the band leads to a trpt. solo, after which a rhythm section vamp takes over and provides the scaffolding for a canonic treatment of the tune.  After a tenor solo there's a full chorus of writing for the band, including some shout and some sax soli, after which the rhythm section vamp takes over again and an ensemble of flutes, muted trumpets and flugel horn plays another variant of the tune.  This comes to a climax and gives way to a final statement of the tune proper, which comes to another climax, leasing to a half time vamp which brings things to a close.
