Description
Commissioned by the family of the late Dr. Ed Ceilley for the University of Northern Iowa Jazz Band One, Medicine Man is cast in an even 8th groove ala Jack DeJohnette. Featured soloists are alto sax (quasi-Kenny Garrett) and piano. A short middle section features some very playable woodwind doubles (altos on flute, tenors on clarinet and bari on bass clarinet).
