Description
The idea for this piece emerged after a very hard and complicated period of my life like I never want to experience again. However, overcoming this period also released a lot of new energy. The music that I was able to write during this time reflects this energy. Musically, this composition in various even and odd time signatures is inspired by musical role models such as Alex Sipiagin, Chris Potter and Dave Holland. As a composer, I find writing music in odd and often unfamiliar meters both exciting and challenging. It is particularly important to me to make them musically coherent and as natural as possible. I am very pleased that this composition was awarded the 3rd prize at the "II Composition Contest" of the "Big Band de Canarias" in Tenerife (Spain) in November 2022.
