Description
IIf you are looking for an odd meter piece for a less-experienced band, this is it. Commissioned for the Muscatine High School jazz ensemble, the title refers to the town’s history as the “pearl button capital of the world.” This chart also answers the question, “What if Killer Joe was set in 5/4 and featured guitar and electric piano?” There is also plenty for the ensemble to do. Space for any instrument to solo, with additional optional backgrounds added at the end of the parts (not scored). Very modest brass ranges.
