Description

Inspired by the compositions of Bob Brookmeyer, "Paper Hands" is a large feature for either Trombone 1, or an additional soloist with the ensemble. Several contrapuntal themes are introduced through the piece that, through playful melodic and harmonic development, help provide momentum for the soloist and to lead the listener to an ultimate "tutti" section with a surprise recapitulation of the introduction (now modulated up a half step).
