Description

"Resolution", movement two of "The Brecker Sketches" was commissioned by Rory Snyder and the Diablo Valley College Night Jazz Band. Dedicated to Michael Brecker this plaintive ballad features lead alto and 1st trombone in duet and solo. It's a commentary on the resolve of Michael to record his final album "Pilgrimage". Muted trumpets and clarinets add color. Written eighth note lines for the keyboard and guitar simulate the passage of time, which suddenly run out mid thought to end the piece.
