Description
A fresh new South African-flavored version of the traditional African-American spiritual, written for TTBB a cappella male choir and tenor soloist(s), with optional hand percussion accompaniment. In the style of vocal groups like Ladysmith Black Mambazo, this arrangement alternates between lead vocalist and male choir phrases, sung in “call-and-response” fashion. This is a wonderful choice to add a “world music” flavor to a Christmas concert or church service. As recorded by the Haven Quartet on their 1997 album, “Come, Let Us Adore Him”.
