The four-part All in One suite recorded by the David Caffey Jazz Orchestra on the CD, ALL IN ONE, begins with SHADES OF BLUE. Much of American jazz and popular music has a direct lineage from the blues. This piece is meant as a tribute to this enduring form and style of music. It includes solos for Guitar, Drums, and Tenor Saxophone. The drum solo is particularly interesting in the way the soloist is set up to dialogue with the full ensemble.
