Description
Original composition dedicated to the legendary jazz composer Gerald Wilson. “Sheath And Sword” is featured on the highly acclaimed 2018 Origin Records release “Origin Suite”. Featured soloists are drums, tenor sax, trumpet and piano; it is two movements in one piece. First half is a modal AABA uptempo swing and the second half is a fast 3/4 time based on the same sort of chord changes as the first half. Driving shout chorus takes it to the end. Feature solos for tenor sax and trumpet, open solo sections. Vocalese male part included.
